Will Points On Full License Stop Me From Getting Cdl?
i just reapplyed for in surance and it went up 100 an something dollars because i have 6 points. three which comes off this year. i’ll be turning 20 in 1 week and i wanted to apply for my cdl when i turned 21. but i was wondering if my 6 points that i have now will stop me from doing so.
note: when i turn 21 i will only have 3 points on full license.

Points will not effect your eligibility to get a CDL. The only thing that WILL prevent you from getting your CDL when you turn 21 is if you are suspended or revoked. (doesn’t appear to be your case).
HOWEVER; finding employment with a company that will not rape you on a regular basis will be another challenge for the first few years. (If YOUR insurance went up by $100, imagine how much a company that delivers 80,000 pound loads daily will be increased)
Go for it… and good luck! Just shop around and do your research when looking for an employer. Try to stay local.

You should contact your local DMV for that information. You should also consider that someone your age with that many points has no business with a cdl.
