Why Do Some Employers Perform A Credit History Check Before Hiring Someone?

it makes no sense, its not like im renting their company to live in as an apartment or house!! what the hell is the point of a employer doing a credit history check on a potential employee?
ive seen truck driving jobs that require credit history checks!!
