I know that we are not all in a position to pick & choose ideal employment, but when I encounter miserable and grumpy folks, who are fed up with their work life, I wonder “well, do something else more suited, then”.
I have chosen a career in an area of designing & installing power stations in remote parts of the world, so get to play with helicopters & big trucks etc.
My first college holiday job was putting thousands of toy tractor tyres on toy tractor wheels.
Soul destroying.
Surely, in an ideal work environment, which doesn’t exist, we should all strive to look forwards to going to work, as we then enjoy it as a big part of our lives.
What do you do, and what do you you reckon on this notion ?

But someone told me that they are on the road non stop and dont even get to go home for only one day a week.
For someone with a class A cdl that drives “longhaul” how much time am I going to be working as a recent graduate?
Hours a week and hours a day?
If you have any information on the Schneider Trucking Company and there hours that would also help.
I know that I am paid by the mile and not hourly I just want to know if all the money they pay is worth it or if I would be better off finding an hourly job somewhere.
Also if you could include your refference that would aid me in my decision.

I have no personal references, and this company will likely give me a decent reference or say only that I have speeding tickets and no DOT accidents. I have no friends currently and I’m aware family references are a sure sign you have no street credibility. What do you recommend.
What kinds of resources or jobs should I look for to change careers or if I lose this job.

We want to travel & we would like to drive but it doesn’t have to be a big truck, it can even be drivning cars cross country…..when we has called about getting a job he is told he does not have enough experiece…..so he goes back to the handyman work…we really need to work more & make more money to pay our bills now. We thought it would be nice to travel. My certificates are outdated (clerical and medical assistant) and I want to do something that’s in demand. I can’t make up my mind on what career to commit to. Right now I’m thinking of truck driving (which is what my father and my son’s father does) or massage therapy. I’ve looked into so many work from home things, but they all seem like a rip off. I’m overweight and can’t stand too long, so I need something that’s gonna be easy on my body and in demand. Any advice? Oh and I owe $10k to FAFSA for the medical assistant school. I’m very poor and don’t know which direction to turn. I’ve done customer service, telemarketing, was a carny, did fast food, worked in a library, had a paper route, worked in a kitchen, did production, was a file clerk, and had endless unfinished trainings in forklift, sales (cutco, tupperware, avon, beauticontrol), bank teller, and I just can’t seem to find my niche.
I’m not motivated to get up and leave the house after being a shut in for so long, so I’m not into hustling people to buy anything. I just want to work, be in the zone, be helpful and important and be paid a decent wage for something I enjoy. What I enjoy is music, being on the computer and watching TV. I like taking pictures and want to help people in a way that doesn’t drain my soul. I can’t make up my mind. How do I get the motivation I need? Please help.
