My fiance is very interested in this, applied to a job that was posted and it turned out to be a CDL training school. They said it was going to cost $13,000 for him to go to their school?? I don’t think that is a reasonable price at all.
I’m trying to seriously look into this so that we can see if we can save to be able to afford to make this investment in him. Anyone on here have their CDL license or know someone who got theirs? If so, how did you get it (which program or school did you use) and what was the approximate cost of the training?
I am supposed to be getting a bonus in March and if I can swing this with my bonus, I definitely think it would be a wise investment in …giving my General Contractor fiance another skill that he can have in his pocket when applying for jobs.

Training takes 1-2 months depending on how fast I pick it up. I’m not concerned about the actual job, but more so about spending 8-10 hours a day in a truck with my trainer. I’m naturally a shy person and I fear there will be lots of awkward silence in the next 2 months. I will ask lots of questions, but you can only ask so many questions. If this guy isn’t a very outgoing person, it could be very awkward. What do you guys think? Have any suggestions?

I am going to get CDL training and License and my husband who know very little english will ride with me along with our 2 year old son. My question is can my husband recieve his CDL licensure with a translator? And if he can what do we need to do? And also if he gets his CDL license, even though not employed by the company, can he drive part time to give me a break while on the road?
Then after the two years our son wil go back to school and we would try to find some work locally. Is it possible to work this out? Please help.

My husband has been driving truck for years, and with the shaky economy, I am concerned about my current job. I am kind of scared to learn. It seems difficult. Can anyone give me advice ahead of time? Is a driving career more stable in this economy, or has it gotten worse? I think I need words of encouragement. I seem to feel intimidated, but I figure if they can do it, so can I. Is it easy for anyone to learn? Thankfully I already know how to drive manual and double clutch, but I know shifting in a truck is completely different. Thanks in advance.
