I went AWOL during Basic Training, I have already went to Fort Sill for Processing out and all that. I surrendered voluntarily after 45 days.
I have a question.
First off, I know someone is gonna say something about me being a coward or some bullcrap but thats not what this question is about…so if you just wanna rant on me just move on…
Anyway
I got a dishonorable discharge and the AWOL label
Does anyone know any careers I can still possibly hold?
I have heard like “factory work”, truck driving, any “skilled craft” jobs etc.
Does anyone know any places besides like the common asshole answer of “Fast Food” that will often hire people with this type of record??
Anyone know any former AWOLS and what they are doing now

Truck Driving Question, My Husband Got His Cdl Lisense Several Years Ago But He Never Went Out To Work Because?

we have a handyman business & our plane was to go out together but I was not well, I was diagnosed with diabetes & very ill. I feel better now & we want to go out. We want to travel & we would like to drive but it doesn’t have to be a big truck, it can even be drivning cars cross country…..when we has called about getting a job he is told he does not have enough experiece…..so he goes back to the handyman work…we really need to work more & make more money to pay our bills now. We thought it would be nice to travel. What can you suggest that we do? ….are there certain companies that would help him get started?…are there others jobs we can do that would help us make money & travel?….our home is in MD in the USA. thank you for any ideas or advice.

I understand that at low speeds, time dilation is minute, but….
for a career truck driver who happens to drive 65 miles per hour for 20 total years of the life, how much younger is he compared to someone standing still for his lifetime?

Schneider National Truck Driver Question?

Ok so, i have a CDL and have only about 1.5 months experience driving a tractor trailer. I haven’t driven one in 2 years since i’ve been working in a different kind of career. But i’m having a hard time making enough money to pay for my food, gas, etc and also afford an apartment/utilities.
So i’m planning on going back to the trucking business since there i didn’t have to worry about rent and utlities.
I don’t want to return to my old company. Instead, i’ve been seeing Schneider’s ads in the paper and am thinking about going that route.
1 — Now, will i be sent to one of their schools and be tested on my ability to park, drive, etc. OR will they put me on a truck immediately with a trainer ?
2 — How hard is their physical test during orientation. I don’t know what they would call it but it’s where you show your ability to lift properly upto 75 lbs at different heights.
3 — How often will i get touch freight and is it usually hand unload or using dolleys and carts ?

Question About Over The Road Truck Driving?

I have a friend who is an over the road truck driver. Three weeks on the road and 3 days home. He has been one for only about 2 years and has a great record except he has had a few accidents. None were his fault and he has never had a ticket. He was sent to the company’s simulator for evaluation and passed it easily. He was put on probation with this company, any accident his fault or not may result in termination. My question is, with this in mind, how difficult would it be for him to get a job with another company? Would these minor accidents that were not his fault have a huge impact on a prospective employers consideration of him?

This Is A Question About The 88m Truck Driver Army Mos?

Yes I just answered a question about the particular MOS and have a question of my own. My boyfriend and I will be joining the Army after high school and we will have to apply for a career field. I was thinking that we could both apply for the 88M MOS because it is also open to women. Is it possible that we could get married while in the Army and apply for the same military unit as truck drivers. I’m thinking it would really be nice if they let us ride in the same truck together. I would let him do most of the driving and just sit really close to him to make sure he’s going the right way. I can’t ask my dad about this because my dad was in the Marine Corp infantry about 10 years ago and probably doesn’t know about Army procedures. My grandpa was in the Army Infantry and fought in Vietnam and I don’t think he would know the answer. Anyway what do you think? Can we be truck drivers together?

Odd Question Regarding Truck Driving Please Read Important Really Important?

in a very strange way i was charged with dangerous driving and leaving the scence of an accident . all off road and not in a truck. anyway i could not get a lawyer . the charges or evidence was so stupid the judge did this thing were i now have my licence even though my record says dangerous driving. odd. here is the thing in 1.5 years this matter all details of it everthing ever written about it anywhere will be sealed locked away from all eyes. permentally . thats great . however the dick that had me charged with dangerous driving is my former boss. note i did nothing he did it. but in one and a half years i will not be able to use him as a reference or even as something to list as a place of work . i will then be able to show only 9 months of driving not the 1year and 10 months of trouble free driving . again every note is sealed no cop no insurance no judge may ever see my record in 1.5 years. do you think i will ever end up with another driving job . tractor trailer long haul to usa is what i did . but i would certainly drive tractor trailer around canada if someone offered. what do you think of my chances please someone needs to tell me the people i know are not drivers so they really no nothing . i am really needing a driver to tell me what you think. please. thanks.
