I’m a truck driver with haz-mat endorsements. two year ago i got a attempted CCW charge. I was given 5 years probation and a felony on my record. Now I can get a decent driving job no where. Is my life as a driver over?

went to the dmv today to take my hazmat test with my cdl (A) permit, they told me i need to pass my road test first, i live in ny state and i’m pretty unsure about this, anybody on here to reassure me that they are right in saying this
I know you have to have a class C CDL liscense to drive anything under 26,000 GVW and carrying chemicals, eg. A pool cleaner, but what all chemicals require it.. anyone know…thanks
