I like to drive as well as travel so I am looking for a courier job where as i can drive back and forth from Michigan to and through Ontario. I would like a company van. I can not drive a CDL truck. I work with a company now where as I drive a van.
Do anyone know of a company with this kind of position?

Best Truck Driving Company To Apply At For 21 Year Old With No Driving Experience And Lives In Los Angeles?

I turn 21 next month, and have been dreaming of becoming a truck driver since i was in high school. I have found companys, such as CRST, CR England and Swift. I’m not sure which one is the best for my location, Los Angeles. Doe’s anyone know which companys are close by LA or which companys offer completely paid training? I just got my own place, and I am barely paying rent, so I need a paid training job for sure so I can have a smooth transition. I’m open to All Advice about truck driving or anything else for that fact too.

Other Than Truck Driving Schools, What Do You Think Is The Best Way To Get Into A Truck Driving Position?

I am 40 years old and was recently “downsized” from my my job in automotive manufacturing management, after nearly 15 years. I have some trucking exp. but I’ve been out of the loop for a while and I’ve let my CDL’s expire.
I know that I don’t want to go the “Truck Driving School” route, but I know that I have the maturity and stability to do very well as a driver.
Does anyone have any ideas, as to the best road to take to get back into trucking?
P.S.- Just looking to be a company driver for the moment. Defintely not ready to be an O\O

Are There Truck Driving Company That Will Hire A Person With Less Than 3 Months Of Otr Experience?

Here is the problem that I’m running into. I work this company for like 3 to 4 months and I had like 4 minor incident or accidents as the truck driving/ insurance company call them. I have been searching for a job since March 2008 and I keep hearing the same thing, I need to get a year of safe driving in before they will even consider hiring me but how can I get that year in if no one wants to give me the opportunity to prove myself?

Im looking into Truck Driving schools but dont know where to began, do to the fact that every thing that i read about online say that they are mostly scams.. so how do i find the right one? should i just spend the money and go to the community college for it?? i would like go through a company so i have a job once i get trained and ive been told that they pay for your school that way.. please help!! Over-the-road Truck Driving… Is This Possible?

For anyone who has experience with over-the-road truck driving, especially as a couple–
Is it a good job, do you think? What are the pros and cons, especially in taking on the job as a team?
Also, I’m not the best driver in the world, but I’m safe and I learn quickly, especially when it comes to physically doing things. My husband, however, can do anything behind the wheel. I’ve got a problem with night blindness as well, not to the point that I’m restricted from driving at night, but to the point that it becomes a little more difficult for me…
If I practiced would I still be able to pass the test despite my night blindness, or do companies typically not hire people with this problem? Would it be safe to assume we could do it in a way that has me taking on the daylight hours and him doing the driving when it’s dark?
Also, if I wasn’t qualified to drive, would there be any other way I could go with him?

My hubby has been doing this work on and off for 30 years. He was home while our kids were small. 3 1/2 years ago he bought his own Peterbilt and has been trucking coast to coast ever since. When it’s busy and you’re making money it’s very good. In the wintertime it can be a bear! He happens to love this work and we just tighten our belts when times are lean. You make more money being an owner operator than you do being a company driver. However, company drivers get more perks than owner operators, like medical, paid vacations, disability.
