I want to get trained so I can get a CDL, (probably class “A”) and I’m amazed at the number of scams and misinformation out there. I’m worried that I’ll get ripped off.

What area do you live in? We cannot answer your question if you do not tell us what you are asking, think about it. Try getting your CDL license from the DMV that is where most ppl get them.
I would like to get my cdl license without going to one of the expensive trucking schools. I am 55 yrs old and drove a firetruck for 27 years … I needed no CDL license for that because I was trained “inhouse” and had an exemption ..
