I drive trks 4 a career, and I must admit its the hardest job Ive ever done! Ive never seen so many jobs wrapped into one. My question is this! Can you give me feedback on how you think about this job and also if anyone has been touched by this profession. Good or bad. Im writing this manuel for anyone deciding to go into this field. Training For A Route Driving Job. What Do I Talk About While We’re Driving?

I have a route sales driving job I’m starting on Monday. Training takes 1-2 months depending on how fast I pick it up. I’m not concerned about the actual job, but more so about spending 8-10 hours a day in a truck with my trainer. I’m naturally a shy person and I fear there will be lots of awkward silence in the next 2 months. I will ask lots of questions, but you can only ask so many questions. If this guy isn’t a very outgoing person, it could be very awkward. What do you guys think? Have any suggestions?

my husband is interested in getting a cdl license. the only license that doesnt require teh road test right away is the “C” license. can anyone tell me what type of truck a class “C” license is allowed to drive? i saw there are alot of endorsements you need to add to the A and B licenses and my husband is not experienced yet, so he wants to just begin with the basic to get experience and practice using a cdl permit then pass for the cdl license ,then add endorsements for the use of bigger trucks ect. where to begin, what is the best and easiest option for beginners ? and what is a class “M” license for?

Milwaukee Wisconsin to town of 9,000 in southern Indiana. Management position that pays handsomely with room for advancement. No girl. No kids. No roots. Friends vs peace and quiet. Concrete jungle vs campfires. Street lights vs stars. I don’t have a truck or a gun and this city’s online paper had pictures of pig wrestling at the county fair; however I could use some time to catch up on reading, writing, or continuing my education. Any advice?

Currently i am doing Computer Science, its my final year. After a month i have my board exams. I am trying studies, and to a extent i have been successfully forcing myself for it. But when the question of career comes to my mind, i dont find myself into a desk job, working on computers. I need something more exiting and rocking. But i am unable to find out anything as such. Whenever i think of it, i get more away from my current studies. I find it stupid, as i am studying something that i dont want to do. Is there anything exiting that i can base my career on? My interests are acting, writing, direction, travelling, adventure, even driving a lorry or truck (long routes). But thats not something i can take as career. I need something promising, concrete, dont want to take any risk for career. Something where i can earn lot. Money matters to me. Dont give me solutions like study rite nw 4 ur boards, think later n all…i need some concrete n promising suggestion. What should i do?

How Do I Go About Becoming A Dump Truck And Heavy Equipment Operator?

I recently graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in Computer information systems. However, I have decided that the office corporate world just isn’t for me. Being confined in a building all day sounds like a miserable way to live.
Ever since I was little, I have loved construction equipment. I was never a girly girl, I loved my Tonka trucks and matchbox cars. I choose jeans and a sweatshirt over dressy clothes anyday. Even today, I still love driving by construction sites. I think it would actually be a fun job to either drive a dump truck all over the state (small state, NH) or to work in the dirt with an excavator, bull dozer, and any other heavy equipment!
I was wondering how one goes about entering this career path? Should I go get my CDL? How do you get training on these machines?

Question About Over The Road Truck Driving?

I have a friend who is an over the road truck driver. Three weeks on the road and 3 days home. He has been one for only about 2 years and has a great record except he has had a few accidents. None were his fault and he has never had a ticket. He was sent to the company’s simulator for evaluation and passed it easily. He was put on probation with this company, any accident his fault or not may result in termination. My question is, with this in mind, how difficult would it be for him to get a job with another company? Would these minor accidents that were not his fault have a huge impact on a prospective employers consideration of him?

Hi! okay, so I’m involved in a program that’s trying to get high school students to go to college (like me) and I’m looking at trades where it would be good to have a college degree. One of my assignments was to interview a truck driver, but I cannot, for the life of me, get one to talk to me when I call up different companies. My deadline is TODAY.
