Should I Get Into Truck Driving?!?

ok guys, ive ALWAYS wanted to be a truck driver my whole life.. but got married young, had kids young, and went into army. now i am 27 with four kids that i love dearly, out of army now for 4 years, and i am considering jump starting my career! my wife is in school now and will be done and making money in june.. i work for a company as a hostler(yard dawg) so i back trailers for a living.. i talk to ALL the drivers that come through… my questions are these 1. if i put my 1 year otr then is it easy to find a local or regional job?? 2. what is the smartest way to drive and be home alot too(no im not crazy to think this, it CAN happen) 3. lastly, should i just get this pycho idea out of my head and find another career path, and any suggestions? thinkin of taking CR England route.. free training, 1 year contract… talk to me guys!!
