Over-the-road Truck Driving… Is This Possible?

For anyone who has experience with over-the-road truck driving, especially as a couple–
Is it a good job, do you think? What are the pros and cons, especially in taking on the job as a team?
Also, I’m not the best driver in the world, but I’m safe and I learn quickly, especially when it comes to physically doing things. My husband, however, can do anything behind the wheel. I’ve got a problem with night blindness as well, not to the point that I’m restricted from driving at night, but to the point that it becomes a little more difficult for me…
If I practiced would I still be able to pass the test despite my night blindness, or do companies typically not hire people with this problem? Would it be safe to assume we could do it in a way that has me taking on the daylight hours and him doing the driving when it’s dark?
Also, if I wasn’t qualified to drive, would there be any other way I could go with him?
