Looking For A Truck More For Casual Driving?
I’m getting a job soon so I need to pick up a truck to start saving up for. I’ll mainly be using it to get to and from school, so something more car-like than a truck would be ideal.
I’m looking for something like a Honda Ridgeline or Chevy Avalanche (both of which are way out of my expected budget); smooth handling, extended cab, and medium carrying capacity, meant more for road driving than off-road hauling.

When you say extended cab, do you mean full second row seating? Some extended cabs(little half doors) may only have a small jump seat or a narrow bench seat. If you want a real backseat then you want a Crew Cab (real rear doors).
Smooth handling? Not easy to get a soft ride in a truck. I’d venture to guess maybe a Toyota Tacoma would be your best bet, Crew Cab with 2WD. Dakota or Colorado would be worth checking out as well.
The Tacoma and Colorado can also be had with a sport/handling package (lowered suspension, wide tires) that grip very well.

if you don’t need something for offroading or hauling, why the heck are you looking for a truck?
do you really need that much power? just get a sedan…that will suit you fine.
it will be more expensive to insure, and will use a lot more gas. and will be more expensive to purchase too.

get a small truck. had a friend that owned a avalanche uses way to much gas.
