Is There A Skill Or A Career Associated With Being Able To Identify Cars By Make And Model (from Far)????

I’ve had this ability to spot cars, trucks, vans, etc. from a distance and even at night. I’ve always wondered if this was a skill – worthless or not. Perhaps this is a skill that could be applied to some kind of forensic science? Any input would be great.

    You would probably make a great policeman. A lot of departments now have the initial exam to enter police academy online so search in your area. That is an ability that can also probably be translated to identifying other things as well. Good luck.

    I own a shop, and think if you were doing a survey of what kind of cars are using the roads, it might be a skill worth pursuing. Its intriguing that you have this ability, but I don’t think it would be very lucrative. Traffic lights that have camera’s to trap speeders, hone in on the tag number, so when you learn to do this from a distance, you might be competitive, and warrant a position in forensic science applications. I applaud your ability, but can see no present or future jobs that would require this type of skill.

    Only in law enforcement. I can do the same thing most of the time. But, it hasn’t really been worth pursuing.
