Interested In Cdl Training, But Feeling Intimidated.?

I am a 27 year old female, and seriously considering taking up training to drive tractor trailer. My husband has been driving truck for years, and with the shaky economy, I am concerned about my current job. I am kind of scared to learn. It seems difficult. Can anyone give me advice ahead of time? Is a driving career more stable in this economy, or has it gotten worse? I think I need words of encouragement. I seem to feel intimidated, but I figure if they can do it, so can I. Is it easy for anyone to learn? Thankfully I already know how to drive manual and double clutch, but I know shifting in a truck is completely different. Thanks in advance.

I got my CDL in Arizona at age 27, and it is a lot of fun. I can’t say much about driving a truck, but there is always a shortage of school bus drivers, and that could be a good way to start. Personally, I would try a dump truck first and then try doing doubles. I am only saying this as personal opinion because it looks harder to watch the back end of a truck than a bus. Personally (again my opinion) I would do it and have fun.
