Im 18 And I Want To Get A Cdl License And I Wanted To Know What Are My Restrictions On The License?
You will not be allowed to haul interstate loads (any load that the fixed intent of the load is beginning, ending, or contracted in another state) or Haz/mat. Must be 21 to do both. Other than that, you will only be limited by your normal restrictions or lack of endorsements – tanker, doubles etc.
Examples of interstate load:
Load picked up in Ohio and driven to Indiana. (pretty simple)
Trailer picked up in Pittsburg, PA, driven to Philadelphia PA, where it is switched to another tractor / driver and driven to New Jersey. (a little harder)
Construction materials picked up in Harrisburg, PA, and driven to York, PA. The order for the package was placed in Camden NJ by a broker. (see how it gets complicated?)
Most companies will not hire you if they have interstate loads, so for the most part, you need not worry about origin / destination.
Your best bet is a local farm / feed delivery, milk truck or something similar.
