    1) Fill out this form and mail it to PennDOT (address is on form) with apropriate fees.http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms/dl_…
    2) In about a week, you will receive your Test Authorization form. Take that form to a license center, and take the written test for each endorsement. (be first in line around 9:30). After passing your tests, you will receive your CDL permit.
    3) After 15 days you can schedule your road test at the license center. You can still drive with a licensed CDL holder, after step 2 but can’t test until 15 days later.
    4) TEST DAY: Take a truck and licensed driver to the exam center. You need to provide your own truck. There you will need to do a pre-trip inspection test, a basic skills test (on the parking lot – cones, backing, parking, backward serpentine) then the final road test. – About 2 hours total – depending on your competence.
If you need to rent a truck, you can try here:http://www.eaglerentalcenter.com/trucks.…
They have a Lebanon location and a Denver (PA) location. The Reading PennDOT testing center is only 20 minutes from the Denver store.
Get the CDL dump for 4 hours Let Glenn or John know why you are renting. They may discount the price because you are not hauling anything. It has a synchronized shifter (no double clutching)and air brakes.
