The training school in your question is definitely a rip off. Most CDL schools are under $5000. Companies like Schnider, Werner and Swift will train you for free or take the training cost out of your pay a little at a time. The catch is, you have to sign a contract to work for them for 6 months or a year after you complete training.
Now on to the next subject. If you value your relationship with your fiance, this would not be a good investment. Truck drivers have the highest divorce rate of any job. Most can not even keep a relationship going let alone a marrage. It takes a special kind of woman, that completely understands the trucking industry and is willing to deal with all the crap to make it work. He will be gone, sometimes, weeks at a time. It is one of the highest stress jobs there is. The money is not what it's cracked up to be. You will listen to all of his problems on the road, and believe me there are plenty of them everyday. He will be dog assed tired most of the time and won't really want to listen to yours. He won't be home when the furnace breaks or the washing machine or anything else and you will have to deal with it. He won't be there when you need a shoulder to cry on. When he does get home, expect him to sleep for the first day, then try to get a week or two worth of work around the house done in one day and then out the door for another week or two. Bottom line is truck driving pretty much sucks. For a single person, with no house or real responsibilities, it's an OK job

You should not pay more than $4-5 K Look into NTTS in Philly, Lincoln Tech or SAGE schools. Plenty of daytime commercials on PHL17 and FOX 29
