Hi Folks,
I know that we are not all in a position to pick & choose ideal employment, but when I encounter miserable and grumpy folks, who are fed up with their work life, I wonder “well, do something else more suited, then”.
I have chosen a career in an area of designing & installing power stations in remote parts of the world, so get to play with helicopters & big trucks etc.
My first college holiday job was putting thousands of toy tractor tyres on toy tractor wheels.
Soul destroying.
Surely, in an ideal work environment, which doesn’t exist, we should all strive to look forwards to going to work, as we then enjoy it as a big part of our lives.
What do you do, and what do you you reckon on this notion ?

My husband worked 3 years for this jerk and he gets a call 3 days after the new year from his boss telling him he’s fired because he’s supposed to do all the employees jobs there except drive they’re trucks (He was a truck driver). This guy was shady to begin with. He never paid for holidays. never gave vacations or personal days. He didn’t give health insurance. He illegally took money out of his paycheck too. He won’t pay for anything extra except for his 200,000 home and his brand new cars. Which is recent by the way. I want to know where I can turn this bastard in so he does’nt get away with this.

This may be long But Please it will explain things.
My own mother never wanted me. Her step dad told me she went to a backwoods country doctor to get an abortion when she found out she was pregnant. She tried to kill me after I was born. I had spinal miningitus and a viral infection in my blood at 2 months old. I was in the hospital with a 107 degree fever. I was in an oxygen tent and and ice pack for 14 days. My grandfather made her take me to the hospital and she told him she wished I would DIE. And she never came back until the day I was released. He made her come get me. My sisters were paid to try to get rid of me. They gave me Beach in a glass and told me it was Lemonade. I was 4 at the time. I got very sick and again grandpa made her take me to the doctor. She told me when I was 7 she hated me WISHED ME DEAD. Said as long as I was alive she would see I was never HAPPY. Because I had ruined her life. When I was 16 she made me get married just to get me out of the house. He was great for about 6 months then he started abusing me. After 3 years and 11 month we divorced. And I met another man. And for 2 years I was Happy until I made the mistake and introduced him to my family. And his family has abused me ever since. He tells his Brother and his dad and step mother all kinds of crap, and his mom and step dad all kind of crap. And I am not even allowed at any of their homes any more. He sneeks of to see them when I am not with him. I sit at home 24 hours a day. I am made to watch our grandchildren for FREE. He gave my truck to our son so I have nO way to go any place. Because I told him I wanted to leave him one day. And he told me if I ever left he would hunt me down like a dog and make my life a living HELL.Just like my mother told him to do. She died in 1996 but still Haunts me today. With things she told people about me. Everytime I try to do something to be happy it Blows up in my face. We traded off our piece of Junk car for a better truck it Quit 6 days later and we got the Junk car back. I had a nice Ford Explorer and my husband Just gave it to our Son. He has a 1996 Pick up But it will not make it to his job so my husband lets him drive my truck. His wife is causing trouble in my marriage by telling her sister How abusive I am to My husband and so Her sister is Chasing my husband now. And they had one affair about 7 years ago. But he found out how much of a piece of trash she was. And says he does not want anything else to do with her. But he sees her everyday. They have a 7 year old little girl And I refuse to baby sit her. I have tried everything to be HAPPY But my mothers Curse just keeps coming back to Haunt me. I have tried winning money to get out of my living conditions. I have tried the lottery, tried different jobs. But now my health will not let me work. Between my Degenerative bone disease, Depression, and Fibromyalgia. I am unable to stand on my feet more than 20 minutes at a time. and sitting over 30 minutes my back has spasms and my legs go numb or my hands and arms start tingling. I can not even go to the Doctor about the time I get the bills jugled so I can go to the doctor he realizes we got money and he trades off the vehicle or gives the money to our son. I jsut want to be happy in my life. I even went and got baptized thinking that would help only to be shunned by the people in church. We would walk in the door of the CHurch and people in the Congregation would walk the other way to avoid speaking to us. We were never even given the teaching before we were baptized. I always thought the preacher spoke with you prior to getting clensed. But we were given a date told to bring extra clothes and took before the whole church dunked and told to change and rejoin the service. Just like that. It was done they gave us a piece of paper with the date and said we were now baptized and never another word mentioned. Now we don’t even attend church. We meet the people in public and they don’t even speak to us.

I’m seventeen and I know I’ll have to wait until next year to get my intrastate comercial drivers license but what do I have to do to be able to pull my dad’s trailers? We own carnival rides.

OK so my current MOS is 68w(medic) which i know is a good job, but i want to switch to 88m(transport). I currently work right now as a delivery driver for FIS, and i like driving around all the time. I picked 68w only because i heard it was a good job, but i have no interest there. Like blood and all that stuff doesn’t bother me, but i just cant really see myself doing that. Where i like driving trucks around and i am kind of a gear head. So i know what some of you will say, if you don’t want to do 68w then just don’t do it, but i wanna know from peoples personal experience at these jobs, is it a stupid idea to switch to 88m, and if so why? I would just like all the information available so 1. i make the right choice on the job and B. i am not unhappy coming in, thank you…..

David Letterman wrote this; it’s the David we don’t often see….
‘As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark.’
‘The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain’t happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ‘What are we so unhappy about?’
A. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?
B. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
D. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
E. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state.
F. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
G. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either.
H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.
I. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.
J. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family, and your belongings.
K. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.
L. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.
M. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?
Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don’t have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?
Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn’t take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it…….are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the ‘Media’ told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn’t have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ”general” discharge, an ‘other than honorable” discharge or, worst case scenario, a ”dishonorable’ discharge after a few days in
the brig.
So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?
Say what you want, but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by ‘justifying’ them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to all

I have a class “c” drivers license in IL. However I have had my license suspened 3 times and revoked once because of moving violations and starting to drive at young age of 14 instead of legally (16). Currently, I have valid license but 3 moving violations in past 3 years, but 1 falls off in April. Now I have a option on either getting cdl in my state of IL or a different state. Are there any benefits of having cdl in different state other than home state? For example: I owe parking tickets in my home state and If I don’t pay on their time table- they may try to suspend license… but If I have CDL from different state then there is no way IL can suspend because out of state.

My husband of 5 years has been hiding the fact his ex-wife has been asking him for money. Now understand that this money is rightfully due to her for old child support. Their kids are grown (26/29) but a few years ago the state started garnishing his pay check. In turn he quit his job.
Will it just so happen that I gave him a call one night (he drives truck over the road). Now my husband has opened an account for me so that I could have money when his not around if we come up short on something.
Now his ex-wife as far as working not sure. The last I heard she was fired from her job. Yes, I have my own money and a good job as well. Anyway, as I was saying I called him one night while I was at work. I asked if he had called? He said.
“I had to take 100.00 dollars from that account,” is what he said. Will I asked why because he and I both get paid on the same day. He said because with his visa debit card he had taken out his limit and that his ex-wife had been on him about money. In the back ground I could hear what sounded like a casino. Which was ot unsual for he or myself.
Will I had no idea that this was going on (him giving him money). SO I blew up on the phone. I REALLY said a LOT OF CHOICE words and SAID I WOULD HURT him for doing this to me. Man was I ANGERY. I could not believe that he could have been so secretive. Not to mention that he is buying me a house, will I’m helping as well. He doesn’t want me to work any longer. Now here she comes again.
But this time he brought her in under the radior.
I really didn’t give him a chance to say much over the phone, and I told him to stay where he was and not to come back home. I had had enough. I spoke with his son who told that, “yes mom has been being a b….tch about money. That still didn’t satisfy my anger.
Everyone that I spoke with said that they understand my being upset about him taking the money from the account without speaking to me. What they didn’t understand is that I have two phones and that he had texted me on the phone I left at home. He knows not to call me at work. I didn’t see that text until I arrived home that money.
I check the transactions of that day and I could see where he was in her home town (she lives out of state but kind of on his route for delivery like and two off track route to get to her home). I failed to memtion that she is very…very bi-polar as well. Her husband left her because of it as well. He moved to another state and now she is trying to move where he is. She gained a lot of weight as well and had gastric-by-pass surgery. My husband said that she lost the weight to get back with her ex but he now has a girlfriend.
Everytime he and I get one foot in front of the other there is something or someone getting in the way. Him driving over the road had been a hardship for both of us. Not seeing each other as we would like to. I guess I had reached my limit. It’s just that I have a lot of medical bills right now and neither one of us have health insurance. So the bills are really expensive. I just needy some clarity and honesty in my life right now. I didn’t need keeping this from me. Letting me find out this way. Did I jump the gun with telling him to leave etc,.?

society has lost touch with any sense of decency that may have existed between the time dragging women to caves was the norm and the time when using Rohipinol to get laid sounded like a good idea after the rave ended and no one could drive, so you walked home past three gay clubs where five guys were waiting in a truck with bats for the club to close before Waffle House stops serving you for reasons not on the menu when the sign clearly states, we never close our minds to the notion that freedom is getting costlier every time you pay a toll on a bridge to nowhere and wind up in a Senator’s bedroom wishing the Surreal Life would broadcast from your house and show how pit bull’s really are nice until you break them and playing football cost you more than your career earnings even as cities vie for the rights to deny you the right to be right in your own home with a consenting adult from Child Protection Services doing things that the internet would refuse to post but in an Austrian basement three lifetimes were locked away and now the argument is not what to do to the bad guy, but over the rights to exploit the victims before the news gets old and no one cares what happens to you, which rhymes with blue.
